They also pioneered the first ever tented camp for photographic safaris. - Along with an incredible history, their modern, permanent tented camp and villa in the Maasai Mara is an absolute dream. We experienced daily game drives with Maasai guides and enjoyed incredible food at every meal. - I was lucky to meet a few members of the Cottars family during our stay and was so inspired by their contributions to conserving wildlife in Kenya and their support of the local Maasai communities through education. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• cottars1920camp

Maasai woman 🇰🇪 ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• I was so grateful for the opportunity to visit a Maasai village during my time in Kenya. - We spent 4 days at cottars1920scamp with a Maasai guide who told us tales about his childhood growing up in the bush -- protecting his livestock from lions and a tragedy of when his brother lost an eye to a leopard. He shared so many beautiful lessons that the Maasai pass down through generations and taught us about the traditions of his people. - On the morning of our departure, he took us to visit the village where he grew up. This is his sister. Her ears were pierced long ago with the thorn of an acacia tree and they are adorned with beaded jewelry that she has hand sewn. - Children approached us in curiosity, smiling as they saw their likeness in the LCD displays of our cameras.
